MILTON — Ann J. Beachel, 89, of Mahoning Street, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at her home.
She was born Nov. 2, 1923, in Milton, the daughter of the late William J. and Catherine M. (Sherman) Burger. She was married for 62 years to Elston Beachel, who preceded her in death on Aug. 17, 2009.
Ann was a graduate of the Scotland School for Veterans Children, Scotland, Pa.
Along with her husband, she ran Beachel’s Taxi, serving Milton, Watsontown and Lewisburg from 1947 to 1972.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Milton.
Ann enjoyed traveling, crossword puzzles, reading, collecting stamps and Hummel figurines, and her beloved dachshund, Heidi.
She is survived by one daughter, Lisa Eberly, of Aliquippa; two grandsons, Rick Eberly, of Milton, and Geoff Eberly, of Aliquippa; and three great-grandchildren, Geoff Eberly Jr., Brennan Eves and Kira Crissinger.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Walter Burger.
Friends and relatives will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 100 Mahoning St., Milton, followed by the funeral at 11 with the Rev. Cheryl Berner officiating.
Burial will be in Milton Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the care of the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton.
