— HARRISBURG — Luther A. Herrold, 87, of Harrisburg, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013.

Born Sept. 3, 1925, he was the son of the late J. Milton and Mary Agnes (Haupt) Herrold.

Luther retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in 1988 as an auditor, and was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his five nieces, Elizabeth Zeiger, Catherine McGarvey, Carol Good, Mary Alice Litehizer, and Lorraine Herrold; and nephews, David and Daniel Barner; cousin, Irene Olley; and good friends, Kenneth and wife Suzanne Stuck, of Harrisburg, and Richard Crossett, of Mifflinburg.

He is predeceased by his partner of 62 years, Richard McClaren; also four brothers, Edward, Lewis, Robert, and John; and three sisters, Naomi Barner, Catherine Rohland, and Margaret Herrold.

Services and burial will be private in Union Cemetery, Selinsgrove.
