SHAMOKIN DAM — Dale E. Bickhart, 74, of Snyder Street, passed away Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, at the SUN Home Hospice Care Center, Sunbury.
He was born Dec. 6, 1938, in Hummels Wharf, a son of the late Charles and Mary (McFall) Bickhart. On July 26, 1959, he married the former Diana Yohn, who survives.
Dale was a 1957 graduate of Selinsgrove High School.
He retired as a truck driver from Lowe’s Home Improvement Center, where he was employed since its opening.
Dale was a member of Sharon Lutheran Church, Selinsgrove, and a member of Free & Accepted Masons Lafayette Lodge 194, Selinsgrove, where he served as past worshipful master, the Williamsport Consistory and the Kreamer Sportsman’s Club.
In addition to his wife of 54 years, Dale is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Glen B. and Rebekah Bickhart, of Middleburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Heather B. and William Hays, of Fairhope, Ala.; two grandsons, Parker and Heath Hays; and his special aunt, Betty McFall, of Shamokin Dam.
He was preceded in death by three children in infancy; one brother, Charles Bickhart Jr.; and two sisters, Sandra Umstead and Mary Bickhart.
Friends and family will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove, where a Masonic service will begin at 11, followed by the funeral with the Rev. Robert P. Doll and Chaplain Jim Taylor, of SUN Home Hospice, officiating.
Interment will be held privately in Evergreen Cemetery, Selinsgrove.
