Stella I. Hermanski Adams, 80, Danville

— DANVILLE — Stella I. Hermanski Adams, 80, of Danville, a former resident of Bear Gap Road, Elysburg, died as a result of an automobile accident on Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, at Geisinger-Shamokin Hospital. She currently was a resident of the Meadows in Danville,

She was born Feb 24, 1933, in Slabtown, a daughter of the late Enoch and Virginia (Glowski) Hermanski. She was married to Nevin L. Adams who died in 2001 ending a marital span of 47 years.

Stella worked as a nursing assistant, an elder care giver, a dress maker at Elysburg dress factory, IGA Markets, and food services at Knoebel’s Grove.

She was a member of St. Peters United Church of Christ (Blue Church), in Paxinos, the Roaring Creek Valley Grange, Square Dancing group, the Cleveland Township Election Board where she worked the polls, was a Den Mother, and a member of Silver Sneakers.

Stella enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, animals, was very giving, had a servant’s heart and was very family oriented. Stella loved being with her grandchildren

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Dennis E. and Connie Adams, of Selinsgrove; two daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia and Ernest Sanchez, of Hampton Va., and Jody and Robert Goeb, of Wilton, Calif.;, four granddaughters, Michelle Schwartz, Lindsey Adams, and Stephanie and Alayne Goeb; two great-grandchildren, Leah and Danica Schwartz; three sisters, Mary Miller and Theresa Kerr, both of Florida, and Helen Sabol, of Natalie.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, Joseph, Enoch, John, Stanley, and Edward Hermanski, and two sisters, Jenny Lucas and Martha Hartman.

A visitation for friends will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Jerry Heintzelman leading prayer service at 8:15, at the Allen R. Horne Funeral Home, 193 McIntyre Road, Catawissa, and from 3:30 to 4 p.m. Saturday at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ (Blue Church), Paxinos, followed by the funeral at 4 with the Rev. Paul Gurba officiating.

Burial will be in St. Peters UCC Cemetery.
