SHELTON, Conn. — Helen Stuck Reher Barney, 88, of Shelton, Conn. passed away peacefully Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at Saint Vincent Medical Center.
A native of Union County, she was born in Lewisburg on Dec. 2, 1924, a daughter of the late Ralph and Ellora (Herman) Stuck.
Helen was a graduate of the Lewisburg High School in 1942. She was employed as an analyst for the PA Ordinance Works, Allenwood in January 1943. She was later transferred to the U.S. Rubber Works, Naugatuck, Conn.
She was married to Albert D. Reher, of Middleburg, in December 1944, who preceded her in death July 13, 1977 after 33 years of marriage. On Sept. 28, 1979, she married Eugene Barney, who preceded her in death July 19, 1997.
Helen worked as an assembler for General Electric for 17 years.
Surviving are five children and their spouses: David Reher, of Shelton, Roger and Susan Reher, of Milford, Richard Reher and Barbara Gasparine, of Woodbridge; two daughters, Holly and Andy Pace, of New York, and Mindy and Hank Mayer, of Stratford; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one sister, Anna Mae Beaver, of Milton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother Robert Stuck and one sister Marion Henderson.
Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Lewisburg Cemetery.
Arrangements are by the John Shaw III Funeral Home, Lewisburg.
