NORTHUMBERLAND — Zae E. Haas, 79, of 700 Front St., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 13, 2013.
She was born May 24, 1934, in Bloomsburg, a daughter of the late Victor and Ora (Small) Thomas. She was married to Charles J. Haas who preceded her in death.
Zae was a 1952 graduate of Locust Township High School.
She was a former employee of Geisinger Medical Center, Gary’s Farm House Restaurant and Paper Magic of Elysburg.
Zae was a member of the Irish Valley United Methodist Church where she was a good and faithful servant and continued playing the organ until she finally went to meet her Lord and Savior. She was a former member of the Ladies Circle and Worship Committee of the church and former member of the Tulpehocken Garden Club.
Zae was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She cherished the time spent with her family. She also loved her animals and truly enjoyed the time spent on the farm.
She is survived by one son, Ronald J. Haas, of Bloomsburg; six daughters, Debra A Lenker and Rose Bennick, of Northumberland, Linda E. Haas, of Danville, and Kathleen R. Boyle, Sandra K. Kurtz and Denise A. Springfield, all of Sunbury; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Grace Klees, Doris Tomashefski, and Dolores Reese.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, her twin, Fae Francis and Leona Hampton.
A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday at Irish Valley United Methodist Church, 2026 Irish Valley Road, Paxinos, followed by the funeral at 11 with Pastor Beverly Petrovich officiating.
Interment will follow in the Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
