Eleanor J. Hoyt, 92, Lewisburg

LEWISBURG — Eleanor J. Hoyt, 92, of Lewisburg, formerly of Lycoming Creek Road, Williamsport, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2013, at her son’s home in Lewisburg, where she had lived for three years.

She was born June 30, 1921, in Williamsport, a daughter of the late Clarence and Alice (Stahlnecker) Bernstine. She was married to J. Ralph Hoyt Sr., who preceded her in death on Nov. 29, 1994.

Eleanor was a member of St. John’s-Newberry United Methodist Church and was a life member of the Duboistown Garden Club.

She is survived by three children and their spouses, J. Ralph Jr. and Sandra Hoyt, of Loyalsock, Arlyne E. Hoyt and Rosaria Gabriele, and Jeffrey E. Sr. and Nancy Hoyt, all of Lewisburg; five grandchildren, J. Ralph III (Lori) Hoyt, Cassandra (John) Gummo, Jennifer (Jason) Albright, and Jeffrey Jr. and Jessica Hoyt; and seven great-grandchildren, Craig Hoyt, Marissa, Andrew and Matthew Gummo, Jackson and Jaden Albright and Ava DeKnecht.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Esther Frye.

A visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport, and from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John’s-Newberry United Methodist Church, 2101 Newberry St., Williamsport, followed by the funeral at 10:30.

Burial will be held in Wildwood Cemetery.

Contributions in Eleanor’s memory may be made to the memorial fund at St. John’s-Newberry UMC.
