DANVILLE — Ruth N. “Dolly” Barker, 76, of Ferry Street, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2013, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Aug. 26, 1936, in Danville, the daughter of the late Wilbur and Catherine (Persing) Figles.
Dolly was a 1954 graduate of Danville High School.
She was a consummate homemaker and an excellent cook. She enjoyed walking around town, going to Curves and traveling with her husband to Nashville, where she enjoyed going to shows and listening to country music.
Dolly is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Johnnie; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Donna McKenna and Debbie and Joseph Kaledas, all of Danville, and Lynn and James Reed, of Bloomsburg; one son and daughter-in-law, John and Connie Barker, of Bloomsburg; eight grandchildren, Jamie, Jennifer, Brian, Zachary, Shayla, Tyler, Elise and Lucas; and five great-grandchildren, Megan, Eric, Sydney, Avery and Hagen.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Brady Funeral Home, 320 Church St., Danville, followed by the funeral at 11 with the Rev. Edmund Minnich officiating.
Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Danville.
The family will provide flowers. Contributions in Dolly’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
