MIDDLEBURG — Michael John Sheeler, 54, of Pitzer Road, passed away unexpectedly at 10:47 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2013, in the emergency room at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
He was born Jan. 22, 1959, in Lewistown, a son of the late Melvin J. and Alma (Silks) Sheeler. On July 20, 1985, he married the former Stephanie A. Lawler, who survives.
Mike was a 1977 graduate of Lewistown High School and served in the Army from 1978 to 1981.
For the past 30 years, he was employed as a residential service aide at the Selinsgrove Center.
He was a member of the American Legion and loved to ride the motorcycle. He was especially proud of his 100th anniversary model Harley-Davidson.
In addition to his wife of nearly 28 years, he is survived by one daughter, April Christina Courtright, of Edenton, N.J.; two grandchildren, Christina Leeann and Andrew; one sister, Bonnie Bearley, of Lewistown; and three brothers, George Sheeler, of Bellefonte, Jerry Sheeler, of Mifflinville, and Timothy Sheeler, of Berwick.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Connie Lou, in infancy.
A viewing will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St., Middleburg, followed by military honors at 6 accorded by the Middle West Veterans.
