NORTHUMBERLAND — Robert R. “Bob” Dorman, 69, of Northumberland, passed away Thursday morning, April 25, 2013, in the ICU at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Bob was born on Jan. 5, 1944, in Sunbury, a son of the late Robert E. and Ruth (Swartzlander) Dorman. On June 30, 1962, he married the former Patricia Badman, who survives.
He was a 1961 graduate of Northumberland High School.
He was of the Lutheran faith.
Bob retired as a road foreman from PennDOT in June of 2005, and previously worked for Interstate Motor Freight, and TRW.
He was a Past Master of Masonic Lodge No. 22, Past Grand Tall of Sunbury Forest No. 65, a member of Ancient Scottish Rite, Zafar Grotto, Rafaz Club and the Milton Fish and Game Association.
Bob enjoyed sports. He coached Shikellamy Ivy League Football for many years, and he also coached in the Northumberland Acorn Little League. He served as district administrator of PA District 13 Little League for 15 years. He especially enjoyed coaching his son Craig in Little League and Ivy League Football. He also got great enjoyment watching his grandson Cory play sports.
Bob was a very caring husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his wife, Patty, he is survived by his son Craig R. Dorman, of Mifflinburg; and his grandson, Cory R. Dorman, of Mifflinburg; one sister-in-law, Pam Clark and Alan Libby, of Sunbury; four brothers-in-law and their spouses, Terry and Carolyn Badman, of New Columbia, Barry and Shirley Badman, of Danville, Tom and Cheryl Badman, of Selinsgrove, and Jim and Tammy Badman, of Selinsgrove; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
At Bob’s request, there will be no public viewing. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
Friends and family may donate in Bob’s memory to their favorite charity.
