DANVILLE — Nancy L. Shrawder, 80, a guest at Vintage Knolls and formerly of Jerseytown Road, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2013, at Vintage Knolls.
She was born on July 25, 1932, in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Charles and Edith (Heiges) Propst.
Mrs. Shrawder was a devoted housewife and mother. She enjoyed cooking and was an extraordinary baker. Nancy loved her garden and enjoyed canning her vegetables. She also enjoyed sewing. Her true love was taking care of her grandchildren. She was a member of Strawberry Ridge United Church of Christ as well as the Danville Community Garden Club. Throughout her life, Nancy enjoyed camping with her family at R.B. Winter State Park and later at her son’s cabin.
She is survived by one son, Marvin K. and his wife Roxie Shrawder, of Danville; three daughters, Donna Russell, of Northumberland, Bonnie and her husband Dennis Edmeads, of Danville, and Nan and her husband Paul Cope Jr., of Danville; 10 grandchildren, Lisa and her husband Ken, Christie and her husband Michael, Sherry and her husband Jeff, Tim and his wife Chris, Julie, Jason and his wife Shannon, Rebecca and her husband Charles, Trey and his wife Gwen, Tisen and Sabrina; eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Virginia and her husband Robert Hepner, of Northumberland, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 26 years, Marvin R. Shrawder in 1983, as well as three brothers, Charles Propst, Howard Propst and Edward Propst.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 Tuesday at the Brady Funeral Home, 320 Church St., Danville, followed by the funeral service at 11 with her pastor, the Rev. Shawn McNett presiding.
Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery in Northumberland.
The family will provide flowers.
