LEWISBURG — Betty Jane Cooper, 87, of Lewisburg, passed away Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010, at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, where she had been a resident for nine years.
She was born March 31, 1923, in Muncy, a daughter of the late Charles C. and Eva Georgia (Rider) Ashenfelder. On Jan. 19, 1942, she married Paul Faust Cooper at Sharon Lutheran Church, Selinsgrove. He preceded her in death in 1985.
Betty Jane was a 1941 graduate of Danville High School.
She was retired from Bucknell University food services.
Surviving are two sons and their wives, Charles Robert “Bob” and Penny, of New Berlin, and Richard and Amy, of Lewisburg; one daughter and her husband, Sylvia and Mark Betzer, of Sylvania; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Ida Seidel, and one daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Joseph Rosboschil.
Friends and family are invited to the viewing from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Washingtonville Lutheran Church, 14 Strawberry Ridge Road, Washingtonville, where a celebration of life service will follow at 10 with the Rev. Melody Sell officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
