MILTON — Betty A. Derr, 74, of Milton, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013, at the Gatehouse in Williamsport.
She was born Jan. 8, 1939, in Mazeppa, a daughter of George and Esther (Shiffer) Lloyd. On Jan. 28, 1956, she married Roland L. Derr Sr., who preceded her in death on Nov. 6, 2007. Together they celebrated 51 years of marriage.
Betty attended Lewisburg schools and operated a daycare for 36 years out of her home.
She enjoyed cooking, shopping, cleaning her house and spending time with her grandkids.
Surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Timothy V. Derr, of Milton, Bruce W. and Brianna Derr and Benjamin R. and Danielle Derr, all of Lewisburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Danita and Mircea Marincas, of Milton; one stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Ronald and Alice Derr, of Bloomsburg; one brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Liz Lloyd, of Mazeppa; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Patricia and Wayne Croll, of Montandon, and Darlene Miller and Sharon and Thomas Booth, all of Mazeppa; four grandchildren, Logan Williams, Joey Derr, Eolian Derr and Bently Derr; and two stepgrandsons, Ronald Derr, Jr. and Sergiu Marincas.
She was predeceased by one son, Roland L. Derr Jr., and one daughter, Jennifer S. Derr.
Friends will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis streets, Lewisburg, where the funeral will be held at 2 with the Rev. Daniel H. Hicks of Sunrise United Methodist Church, Lewisburg, officiating.
Burial will follow in Sunrise Cemetery.
