SELINSGROVE — Charles H. “Jimmy” Hoot Jr., 68, formerly of Shamokin Dam and a recent guest of the Manor at Penn Village, Selinsgrove, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2013, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
He was born Jan. 11, 1945, in Sunbury, a son of the late Charles H. and Irene (Rohland) Hoot.
Jimmy was a member of Christ Community United Methodist Church, Selinsgrove.
He took pride in maintaining lawns and doing yard work for neighbors and friends. Jimmy loved music, especially listening to country and gospel. He also enjoyed watching western movies and television shows. He was a very social person, always spending his time around others.
Jimmy is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Alan B. and Polly K. Hoot, of Selinsgrove; his sister, Sharon H. Beck, of Shamokin Dam; eight nieces and nephews; and his beloved Jack Russell terrier, Sporty.
Friends and family may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 3939 Park Road, Selinsgrove, where the funeral will begin at 11 with the Rev. Randall G. Bennett Jr. officiating.
Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Selinsgrove.
