SUNBURY — Larry J. Vivaldo, 79, of Sunbury, passed away at 3:41 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Golden Living Center-Mansion, where he had been a guest for six years. He was a resident of Sunbury for 25 years and previously lived in Herndon.
He was born Jan. 27, 1934, in Lewisburg, the son of the late Anthony and Lena (Riland) Vivaldo.
Larry was a 1951 graduate of Dalmatia High School and attended Eckles College of Mortuary Science in Philadelphia. He served in the Air Force as a staff sergeant during the Korean War.
He had been employed by the Steelton/Highspire Railroad and Butter Krust Bakery, Sunbury in the maintenance department.
Larry attended St. Monica Church, Sunbury, was a life member and past secretary of the Herndon Fire Company and was a member of the Mandata American Legion.
He is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Nada and Richard Hassinger, of Berrysburg, and two nephews, Kerry, of Hummelstown, and Brad, of Elizabethtown.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at 1 p.m. Saturday in Herndon Cemetery with the Rev. Joseph Gotwalt officiating.
Funeral arrangements are by the Olley-Gotlob Funeral Home, 539 Race St., Sunbury.
