NORTHUMBERLAND — Betty B. Delaney, 89, of Northumberland, formerly of Main Street, Potts Grove, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2013, at Nottingham Village, Northumberland.
She was born Feb. 19, 1924, in Montandon, a daughter of the late Willard and Florence (Smith) Bower. She was married to Robert G. Delaney, who survives.
Betty was a graduate of Potts Grove High School and Thompson Business Institute, Harrisburg.
She worked as a secretary at Chef Boy-Ar-Dee, Milton, and as a laborer at International Paper, Lewisburg.
Betty was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Potts Grove.
Betty enjoyed nature and was a great mother and grandmother.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, James E. and Ann Delaney, of Madison, Ala., and Harry R. and Jeannie Delaney, of Northumberland; two daughters, Andrea D. Keiser, of Mifflinburg, and Mary A. McBryan, of Lewisburg; one brother, Richard Bower, of Montandon; three grandchildren, Megan L. Cook, Nathan E. McBryan and Harry R. Delaney; and two great-grandchildren, Jacob S. Cook and Eva G. McBryan.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Nelson Bower, and three sisters, Marion Stamm, Mary Hein and Margaret Bucher.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Highland Cemetery, New Columbia, with the Rev. Adrian J. Shearer officiating.
Arrangements are under the care of the Shaw Funeral Home, Milton.
