Grace E. Shambach, 93, Middleburg

— MIDDLEBURG — Grace E. Shambach, 93, formerly of Kissimmee Road, passed away at 2:40 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014, at The Manor at Penn Village, Selinsgrove.

She was born June 17, 1920, in Centre Township, Snyder County, a daughter of the late William and Minnie (Dreese) Mitchell. On Dec. 12, 1936, she married Jesse T. Shambach, who preceded her in death on Feb. 9, 2000.

Grace had been employed by Wood and Metal, Kreamer, Westinghouse, Sunbury, Benner’s Bakery, Middleburg, and retired from Blough and Wagner Manufacturing, Middleburg.

She had been a member of the former Salem United Methodist Church, Middleburg.

Grace was a terrific cook and baker; she especially enjoyed cooking for her family. She will be remembered for the bread she baked and gave to others.

Her family, namely her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, were the focus of her life.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, William F. and Sonja Shambach, of Sunbury; one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy A. and Dale Heintzelman, of Middleburg; four grandchildren, Michael Shambach, Tonya Quester, and Kirt and Scott Heintzelman; eight great-grandchildren, Chantel, Jesse, and Blake Shambach, Skyler and Jake Quester, and Sarah, Hannah and Caleb Heintzelman; and one great-great-grandson, Landon Duffy.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Russell, Raymond and Irvin Mitchell; and one sister, Florence Bailey.

Friends and family will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St., Middleburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday with Pastor Bob Klingerman officiating.

Burial will be in Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery, Middleburg.
