MILTON — Douglas G. Boyer, 57, of Park Avenue, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, in Montoursville.
He was born in Danville, a son of the late Clyde G. Boyer and Rita (Goodhart) Boyer. He was married to the former Marge Stuckey, who survives.
Doug was a 1974 graduate of Milton High School.
He was employed as a distributor for Snyder’s and Lance’s snack foods.
Doug enjoyed bowling and is in the Lewisburg Bowling Hall of Fame. He bowled more than 35 perfect games. He also enjoyed golfing, fishing and riding motorcycles and was a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Boyer Haley, of Maryland; one grandson, Gavin Haley, of Maryland; one sister and brother-in-law, Dawn and Douglas Shoff, of New Cumberland; three sisters-in-law, Barb Boyer, of Northumberland, Linda Baum and her husband, Ron, of Mifflinburg, and Cheryl Naulty and her husband, Stewart, of Kentucky; his stepmother, Cherie Lins Boyer, of Montandon; his mother and father-in-law, Jack and JoAnn Stuckey, of Mifflinburg; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Dwayne “Dewey” Boyer.
Friends and relatives will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 22, at the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton, where a memorial service will be held at 11 with the Rev. Harry H. Harter officiating. Burial will be in Montandon Cemetery at the family’s convenience.
