DANVILLE — Karl F. Shultz, 81, of Danville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at Columbia-Montour Home Hospice at Maria Hall in Danville.
He was born Sept. 16, 1932, in Nescopeck, a son of the late Benjamin and Florence (Bankes) Shultz. On Aug. 26, 1962, he married the former Alice Woodruff, who survives. They celebrated 51 years of marriage.
Karl graduated from Nescopeck High School in 1951 and from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1965 with a bachelor’s degree in education. Karl served honorably in the Army during the Korean War.
He was employed by the Milton School District for 27 years as a special education teacher and social studies teacher, retiring in 1993.
He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Potts Grove.
Karl loved gardening and taking care of his flowers. He was especially fond of his Irish setters. His greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his wife and daughter, whom he adored.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Karla M. Shultz, of Enola; and one sister.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 2 p.m. Feb. 22 in St. John’s Lutheran Church, South Mill Road, Potts Grove, with his pastor, the Rev. Aaron Shearer, officiating.
A private committal service will be held at the convenience of the family.
