ELYSBURG — Margaret “Jane” (Swank) Patton, 72, of 158 W. Roosevelt Ave., passed away at noon Thursday, June 13, 2013, at SUN Home Hospice Care Center.
Jane was born Oct. 10, 1940, in Shamokin to the late Addison E. and Ruth M. (Raup) Swank. She was married May 5, 1995, to the late Leonard Patton who preceded her in death May 15, 1996.
She was a 1958 graduate of Ralpho Township High School and had attended two years of classes at Geisinger Nursing School.
Jane retired in June of 2003 from Geisinger ophthalmology department where she had worked as a technician.
She was a member of the Elysburg United Methodist Church and had sung in its choir. Jane helped distribute food for the local food bank and she loved to bowl, bowling in a traveling league and the Sunbury Church League.
Survivors include one sister, Mary “Janet” and her husband Harold A. Parker; and one brother, A. Wayne Swank and his wife Nancy C., and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Colleen Swank.
A time of visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Elysburg United Methodist Church, where the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Michelle Beissel officiating.
Burial will be in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Elysburg.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1420 N. Susquehanna Trail, Selinsgrove, PA 17870.
