CATAWISSA — Robert C. Troy, 58, of Slabtown Road, died Sunday evening, Dec. 30, 2012, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where he had been a patient since Thursday. He had been in a failing health for several months.
He was born April 1, 1954, in Bloomsburg, and was the son of the later Howard and Margaret (Beaver) Troy.
Robert worked for ACF Industries, Milton, retiring in the mid-1990s due to his health.
He was Protestant.
Robert liked the outdoors, including hunting. He was humorous, carefree, always willing to help someone out and loved to tinker.
He is survived by three daughters, Amanda Shinskie and her husband, Robert, of Richlands, N.C., Amber Shingara and her husband, Nathan, of Sunbury, and Autumn Troy, of Lititz; five grandchildren, Leighla, Derek Jr., Levi, Nevaeh and Lexia; and one sister, Linda Meckley and her companion, Wayne Spudes, of Catawissa.
Visitation for friends will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Allen R. Horne Funeral Home, 193 McIntyre Road, Catawissa, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Joshua Craley, a nephew, officiating.
Burial will be in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge.
