LEWISBURG — Corinne R. Persing, 76, of 135 S. Third St., passed away at her home on Thursday evening, Feb. 7, 2013.
A native of Montour County, she was born in Danville on Feb. 4, 1937, a daughter of the late James C. and Gwendolyn (Denning) Seebold. She married Dr. Amos V. Persing III on July 26, 1958.
Corinne graduated from the Watsontown High School with the class of 1954, and earned an associate’s degree from Susquehanna University in 1958.
She was employed by Evangelical Community Hospital from 1956-1958 and the National Drug Company of Philadelphia from 1958-1960.
Corinne was a member of Christ’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Evangelical Hospital Auxiliary where she was past president, and was past treasurer of the Lewisburg Junior Civic League. She dedicated her life to her children, grandchildren, and her church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children and their spouses, James and Tamara Persing, and Julia and Dr. Todd Stefan, all of Lewisburg; grandchildren, Johanna Persing, William Persing, Gwendolyn Stefan, and Todd David Stefan; one sister, Judy Darlington, of New Bloomfield; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Melodee and Dr. John Persing, of Lewisburg, and various nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Christ’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lewisburg, followed by the funeral at 11 with her pastor, Rev. William S. Henderson officiating.
Burial will be in the Lewisburg Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
The family will provide flowers and ask that donations in Corinne’s memory be made to either Christ’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 100 S. Third St., Lewisburg, or to the Evangelical Hospice, 1 Hospital Dr., Lewisburg, PA 17837.
Funeral arrangements are by the John H. Shaw III Funeral Home, Market and Eighth streets, Lewisburg.
