Sandra A. Meachum Falce, 62, Hermitage, Tenn.

HERMITAGE, Tenn. — Sandra Ann Meachum Falce, 62, of Hermitage, entered into eternal life on Sunday, May 5, 2013, at Emory University Hospital Midtown, Atlanta, Ga., ending a courageous six-year battle with breast cancer.

She was born Oct. 26, 1950, in Lewisburg, Pa., a daughter of Charles and Nettie Meachum. On Aug. 7, 1971, she married Joseph “Joe” Falce, who survives.

She was a 1968 graduate of Lewisburg Area High School. She earned her diploma in computer programming in 1969 from Thompson Institute, Harrisburg, Pa.

Sandy worked in the insurance industry for 44 years. During her career, she earned her certification as an insurance counselor and certification in general insurance. The highlight of her career was earning her commercial property and casualty underwriter certification. At the time of her death, she was employed by Commercial Insurance Associates, Brentwood, Tenn., as an account executive, specializing in railroads.

Sandy was a member of Hermitage Presbyterian Church, Hermitage, where she was serving her second term as a member of the church’s session. She was an avid supporter of Room in the Inn for the homeless, where she collected men’s clothing for distribution. She loved the outdoors and was active with the Boy Scouts of America for 29 years. She has served in many positions, including Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts Roundtable chairman and den leader coach at the district level. She was the organizational representative for Troop 263 of Hermitage for the past 24 years. She was awarded the Hermitage District Long Rifle Award and was a vigil member of the Order of the Arrow.

In addition to her husband of 41 years, she is survived by her son, Jason, of Hermitage; loving sister, Linda Scheetz and husband Robert, of Monroe, N.Y.; brother, Charles L. Meachum and wife Stacy, of Lewisburg; and many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and brothers- and sisters-in-law who will miss her.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Contributions may be made in Sandy’s memory to the Sarah Cannon Research Institute, 300 20th Ave. North, Nashville, TN; Hermitage Presbyterian Church, 421 Highland View Drive, Hermitage, TN 37076; Boy Scouts of America, 3414 Hillsboro Pike, Nashville, TN; or a charity of the donor’s choice.
