Nolan K. Jordan, 74, Middleburg

— MIDDLEBURG — Nolan K. Jordan, 74, of 44 W. Market St., passed away at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, July 11, 2013, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

He was born Aug. 31, 1938, in Kissimmee, a son of the late Corbett and Mazie (Steimling) Jordan. On June 10, 1961, he married the former Lana D. Zeigler who survives.

Nolan was a graduate of Middleburg High School and served in the Marine Corps from 1956 to 1958.

He retired in 2000 as Middleburg borough manager after 40 years of service for the borough. Prior to that he had worked for the Acme store in Middleburg and Asplundh tree service.

Nolan was a member of Loyal Order of the Moose 1229 of Middleburg. He enjoyed golfing and volleyball, and was an avid poker player. He had a passion for cooking, but the greatest love of his life was family and being together with them.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 52 years, are one daughter and son-in-law, Jeanine and Floyd Carr, of Kreamer; three sons, Scott E. Jordan and his companion Tammy Ricardo, of Richfield, Theron K. Jordan, of Kreamer, and Vincent N. and Dana Jordan, of Mount Pleasant Mills; 10 grandchildren, Nicholas, Zebulon, Camala, Kaisha, Hannah, Hunter, and Brenna Jordan, Jedidiah Carr and his wife Megan, and Katie Carr Hogan and Joshua, and Jacob Carr; three great-grandchildren, Kailyn Carr, Carter Chapin, and Kennedi Spriggle; and one brother, John Jordan, of Middleburg.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Jeanette Travelet; and three siblings in infancy, Richard, Bobby and Belva.

Friends and family will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 21 at the Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St., Middleburg, followed by a memorial service at 6 p.m. with the Pastor Aaron Benner officiating. Military honors will be presented by the Middle West Veterans following the memorial service.
