SELINSGROVE — Shirley A. Handiboe, 76, of Country Side Village, passed away Friday morning, July 12, 2013, at her home.
Shirley was born April 19, 1937, in Selinsgrove, a daughter of the late George and Beata (Kratzer) Jarrett. On May 15, 1954, she married John D. Handiboe who survives.
She attended the Herman School and later Bensalem High School.
Mrs. Handiboe was a homemaker but was also employed with Gee Bee’s Department Store, Selinsgrove, Geisinger Medical Center, Danville and had retired from CVS, Selinsgrove.
Earlier in life, Shirley and her husband enjoyed riding motorcycles. She was also a talented cook and baker. More recently she enjoyed spending time on her computer surfing the web and playing games.
In addition to her husband she is survived by three sons and one daughter-in-law, John I. and Cindy L. Handiboe, of Sunbury, Stan A. Handiboe, of Halifax, and George S. Handiboe; five daughters and three sons-in-law, Debra J. and Ken Lubert, of Northumberland, Jane and Larry E. Hubbert, of Millmont, Diane M. and Norman Erdman, of Genoa City, Wis., Sally A. Clark and companion, Michael Brophy, of Northumberland, and Sandra L. Walter, of Selinsgrove; 13 grandchildren, John, Laura, Tara, Jeffrey, Laura, Cody, Leah, Brad, Ben, Tim, Angie, Jada and Maya; and five great-grandchildren, Cohen, Rylee, Leila, Gage and Owen.
She was preceded in death by one grandchild and her sister-in-law, Mary E. Handiboe.
Friends and family may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High Street, Selinsgrove, where the funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. with Chaplain Carrie L. Stein officiating.
Burial will follow in Orchard Hills Cemetery, Shamokin Dam.
