ELIZABETHTOWN — Betty J. Auker, 88, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Richfield, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2013, at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown.
She was born in Mifflintown, a daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Dumm) Reynolds. She was married to Raymond Auker who preceded her in death in 1995.
She was a 1944 graduate of the former Juniata Joint High School, Mifflintown.
Betty was employed at the former Reeves-Hoffman Crystal Company, Carlisle, and had previously worked at Zendt’s Nursing Home in Richfield. Betty was a foster grandparent until the age of 80.
She was of Methodist faith.
Betty enjoyed word seek puzzles and playing dominoes, but she received her greatest joy by spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving is one daughter, Bonnie Conrad, of Mechanicsburg; one son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Sherri Auker, of Carlisle; a son in-law, Paul Conrad, of Mechanicsburg; six grandchildren, Hillary Auker, Amamda Mormile, Rachel Brown, Theran Conrad, Adrian Conrad, and Logan Auker; two stepgrandchildren, Kaitlyn and Michael Tanner; four great-grandchildren, Olivia Auker, Nicholas, Dylan, and Madelyn Mormile; a sister in-law, Peg Reynolds; a brother-in-law, Donald Auker and wife, Marian; four sisters-in-law, Eunice Auker, Sarah Graybill, Donna Ritzman, and Marian Mandle; and a close friend, Virginia Hornberger.
She was preceded in death by one son, Ronald K. Auker; one granddaughter, Allison Michelle Auker; two sisters, Florence Hutchinson and Anna Bishop; and five brothers, James, Kenneth, Blaine, Norman, and Russell Reynolds.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Richfield United Methodist Church, 90 Church St., Richfield. A visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
Interment will be in Richfield Union Cemetery.
