Ramona Walter, 84, Lewisburg

— LEWISBURG — Ramona Walter, 84, of 4084 Buffalo Road, passed away Saturday morning, July 27, 2013, at the Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg.

A native of Mount Union, she was born July 17, 1929, the daughter of the late Lynn G. and Sarada I. (Hixson) Belford. She was married to Cloyd D. “Tuny” Walter Jr. for 66 years.

Ramona was a graduate of Lewisburg High School and retired from the Huntingdon Throwing Mills, Mifflinburg, and had worked at the Dock View Dairy and JPM, both of Lewisburg.

Ramona was a member of the Lewisburg Chapter 394 of the Order of Eastern Star and the Supreme Council Order of the Amaranth William A. Knecht Memorial Court 144, Milton.

Ramona enjoyed cooking and hosting family social and holiday events, as family was the most important part of her life, arts and crafts, yard and rummage sales, antiquing, fishing, bird watching and gardening.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons and daughters-in-laws, Gary W. and  Marlene Walter, in Mifflinburg, and Gregory L. and Dora L. Walter and Colby L. and Judy M. Walter, all of Lewisburg; six grandchildren and their spouses, Jannette L. and Jeffrey Kanagy, of Reedsville, Kelly C. and Nathan Seigel, of Mifflinburg, Wendy L. and Stephen Walter, of Lewisburg, Doug E. and Heather Walter, of Lewisburg, Michelle L. Walter, of Duncannon, and Bryan S. and Jaime L. Walter, of Mifflinburg; 10 great-grandchildren, Aaron J. Kanagy, Bryn N. Kanagy, Ryan D. Kanagy, Dylan W. Seigel, Logan C. Seigel, Bret W. Walter, Brendan T. Walter, Makenna N. Walter, Harper A. Walter and Madison N. Walter; one brother, Lynn Jay and his wife, Shirley Belford, of Lewisburg; and one sister-in-law, Doris L. Belford, of Lewisburg.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Lee T. “Buck” Belford.

Friends and relatives will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the John H. Shaw III Funeral Home, Market and Eighth streets, Lewisburg, followed by the funeral with the Rev. Judi A. Dunkelberger, officiating.

Private burial will be in Mazeppa Cemetery.
