E. Scott Newcomer, Selinsgrove

— SELINSGROVE — E. Scott Newcomer of 16 Gregory Lane, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2013.

Born on May 8, 1927, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Earl H. and Maud E. Newcomer.

On April 25, 1952, he married the former Lois M. Hunter, who preceded him in death on March 6, 2011.

 Scott graduated from Williamsport High School, and from Lycoming College in 1951.

He served in the U.S Navy in World War II.

He retired in 1987 from the Selinsgrove Center as director of human services and labor relations.

 Scott is survived by six children: Patricia Fields and husband Edward, of York; Scott Newcomer Jr. and wife Pamela of Selinsgrove, Gary, of Selinsgrove; Linda Henseling and husband John, of Linglestown; Cynthia Mull and husband Orval, of Selinsgrove; Wendy Carado and husband Frank of Linglestown; and daughter-in-law Kathy Newcomer, of Selinsgrove.

Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

 He was preceded in death by oneson, David B. Newcomer, of Selinsgrove, and one granddaughter, Holiday Fields Figdore of Red Lion.

 At Scott’s request, funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family in Orchard Hills Cemetery, Shamokin Dam, with Pastor Leon Scholl officiating.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rudy Gelnett  Memorial Library, 1 N. High St. Selinsgrove, Pa.; orSUN Home Health and Hospice, 61 Duke St., P.O. Box 232, Northumberland, Pa. 17857.

 Arrangements have been entrusted with the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury, Pa.
