Hugh H. Dinsmore, 87, Selinsgrove

— SELINSGROVE — Hugh H. Dinsmore, 87, of Grayson View Court, passed away Friday morning, March 22, 2013, at his home.

He was born July 31, 1925, in Northhampton County, a son of the late Hugh and Elsie (Hedden) Dinsmore. On March 15, 1952, he married the former Eleanore F. Fogarty who survives.

Hugh received his bachelor’s and masters degrees from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and his MBA from Farleigh Dickinson University. He was a veteran of World War II serving from 1943 to 1945 in the Army Air Force where he was a bombardier instructor. He was discharged with the rank of second lieutenant.

Hugh was employed by Stapling Machine Corporation, Rockaway, N.J. from 1949 to 1989. At the time of his retirement he was serving as president of the corporation. His work gave him the opportunity to travel the world extensively.

Since residing in Selinsgrove, he was a member of Sharon Lutheran Church, Selinsgrove, and prior to that he was a lifetime member and elder of First Memorial Presbyterian Church, Dover, N.J.

Hugh authored a book about his life entitled, “Me”. He was an avid golfer and also enjoyed horseshoes at the Ken Battram Horseshoe Field in Selinsgrove. His athletic ability was reflected in his winning of three gold medals for golf in the senior Olympics.

In addition to his wife of 61 years, he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, LeeAnn and Victor Pupo, of Kulpmont, and Christine and Chris Jaegers, of Selinsgrove; three grandchildren, Michael Barth, of Wynwood, and his fiancee, Kathryn Batchelor, Rebecca Jaegers, of Selinsgrove, and Francesca Pupo, of Kulpmont; one brother and sister-in-law. William and Laurie Dinsmore, of Bethesda, Md.; and numerous friends in New Jersey, Florida, Pennsylvania, and Japan.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 13 at Sharon Lutheran Church, Selinsgrove, with the Rev. Robert P. Doll officiating.
