Patti A. (Lingle) Owens, 59, Watsontown

WATSONTOWN — Patti Ann (Lingle) Owens, 59, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 20, 2013, at her home. Patti was known for her love of the Lord, family and friends. Patti faithfully battled breast cancer since 2007 and lymphoma since 2011. Through her reliance on her strong faith in God and by the diligent support of both family and friends, she was able to persevere through her many struggles. Patti was very vocal, with others, about her fight with cancer and how her faith was an essential aspect of her being a “cancer conqueror” — living each day to its fullest.

Patti was born July 9, 1953, in Clearfield, a daughter of Thomas and Virginia (McClellan) Lingle.

Patti attended Pennsylvania College of Technology, where she received a bachelor’s degree. This was a significant accomplishment as it came shortly after she recovered from a near fatal car accident in 1999.

She worked as both an investment broker and a Christian financial adviser. She also served as an adjunct faculty member at Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Patti was a member of Christ Wesleyan Church, Milton.

She was well known as a seamstress and amateur photographer, and she loved spending her time caring for her many flowers.

Patti is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Edwin G. Owens; three children and their spouses, Steven and Kelly Owens, of Bellefonte, Lisa and Dave Jacobs, of Montgomery, and Kristy Owens, of Marysville; four grandchildren, Parker and Cameron Owens and Cassidy and Elliana Jacobs; one sister, Peggy Lingle, of Clearfield; one brother and sister-in-law, T. Andrew and Kathryn Lingle, of Midlothian, Va.; and one sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Richard Swanson, of Turbotville.

Patti thoroughly enjoyed and looked forward to spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will celebrate the life of Patti Owens at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Christ Wesleyan Church, 363 Stamm Road, Milton, with Pastor Arlie Davis officiating. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 3:30.

Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in Bradford Cemetery in Woodland, with son-in-law, Pastor Dave Jacobs, officiating.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her honor to Christ Wesleyan Church, 363 Stamm Road, Milton, PA 17847, the Cancer Research Foundation Inc. at or to Clinton Baptist Church, 60 Warren St., Montgomery, PA 17752.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brooks Funeral Home, 124 Main St., Watsontown.
