Ida M. Straub, 69, Danville

DANVILLE — Ida Mae Straub, 69, of 293 Stine Road, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at her home.

She was born March 3, 1943, in Exchange, a daughter of the late Beatrice G. (Snyder) and Thomas H. Bostian Sr.

She had been employed as an inspector for various textile mills in the Danville area.

She was a member of Sheep’s Bible Church, Danville.

Ida was also a member of the Montour Antique Farm Machinery Collector’s Association and the Indian Run Social Hall, Danville.

Ida enjoyed flea marketing and unique jewelry making.

Her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her family whom she adored.

She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Calvin R. Straub, whom she married, Sept. 9, 1994;  four daughters and three sons-in-law, Linda and William McCormick, of Danville, Pamela and Todd Ulrich, of Danville, Felicia and Preston Koser, of Danville, and Melissa Kolenda of Muncy; three step-sons, Daniel Straub, of Millville, David Straub and his wife Brenda, of Watsontown, and Donald Straub of Berwick; 20 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas H. Jr. and Maudell Bostian, of Danville, and Walter G. Sr. and Vickee Bostian, of Danville; two sisters; Frances B. Bostian, of Danville,  and Alice K. Brobst, of Bloomsburg; one brother-in-law, Robert M. Styer Sr.; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one step-son, Darin Straub in 2001, and one sister, Betty A. Styer in 2007.  

Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 1 p.m. Sunday followed by the funeral at 1 p.m. at Visneski Funeral Home Inc., 10 W. Mahoning Street Danville, with the Rev. Milton McKinney officiating.

Burial will follow in Columbia Hill Cemetery, Danville.
