June E. Hewlett, 91, Danville

DANVILLE — June E. Hewlett, 91, formerly of 755 E. Market St., went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at Grandview Health Homes Inc., Danville. Recently, she had been a guest at Emmanuel Home, Northumberland.

She was born April 10, 1921, in Berwick, a daughter of the late Roy and Mabel Whitmire McAllister.

She graduated from Danville High School.

June was a devoted homemaker and mother.

She enjoyed playing bingo.

June was married for 62 years to Alvin J. Hewlett Sr., who preceded her in death on April 14, 2005. They were married Sept. 12, 1941.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Alvin J. “Jim” Jr. and Donna L. Hewlett, of Northumberland; one grandson, A. James Hewlett; one granddaughter, Jodi L. Hewlett; three great-grandchildren, Justine, Jared and Jayden; one great-great-granddaughter, Ryleigh; nieces; and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Joelle K. Hewlett, in 1992, and two sisters, Lois Laubenstein and Mary L. Price.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Visneski Funeral Home Inc., 10 W. Mahoning St., Danville, followed by the funeral at 11.

Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
