Ruth E. Moody, 87, Northumberland

NORTHUMBERLAND — Ruth E. Moody, 87, of Emmanuel Home, Northumberland, formerly of Cherry Street, Paxinos, passed away Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at Sunbury Community Hospital.

Born in Shamokin on April 26, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Frederick A. and Edith I. (Phillips) Ferster. Ruth was married on June 22, 1957, in Winchester, Va., to Kenneth M. Moody, who preceded her in death on July 21.

Ruth was a 1942 graduate of Shamokin High School.

She formerly was employed as an operator for Bell Telephone Co. in Shamokin and Sunbury.

She was a member of United Lutheran Church, Wolf’s Crossroads, Sunbury.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Philip K. and Tami Moody, of Sunbury; and three granddaughters, Kelsie Moody, Haily Moody and Madison Moody, all of Sunbury.

She was preceded in death by one son, Frederick M. Moody, on Jan. 27, 1996.

A private funeral with the Rev. Wayne Muthler officiating will be held at the convenience of the family.

Burial will be in Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Hunter Station.

Contributions in Ruth’s memory may be made to the United Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 167 Seven Points Road, Sunbury, PA 17801.
