SELINSGROVE — Linda Kay White, 66, of Valley View Lane, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, at SUN Home Health and Hospice, Sunbury.
She was born on Dec. 1, 1946, in Berwick, a daughter of the late Ivan and Christine (Bower) Mowery. On March 2, 1968, she married Arthur J. White, who survives.
Linda was a 1965 graduate of Nescopeck High School.
She previously had been employed at the Berwick Textile Mills and later at Groce’s Silk Mill in Selinsgrove.
Mrs. White attended Grace Covenant Community Church in Middleburg.
She enjoyed volunteering at Evangelical Community Hospital in Lewisburg, working in the gift shop.
Linda also enjoyed flowers, gardening, crossword puzzles, crocheting and embroidery, scrapbooking, painting, cooking and baking and especially loved spending time with her family.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are one daughter, Michelle M. Landis, of Port Trevorton; one son and daughter-in-law, Jay A. and Jennifer White, of Middleburg; four grandchildren, Jenelle Oberholtzer and spouse Benjamin, Karina Landis and Marissa and Jayden White; one great-grandchild, Jordan; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Clyde and Claudia Mowery and William and Margaret Mowery; one sister and brother-in-law, Carrie and Robert Hower; one brother-in-law, Robert Bower; one sister-in-law, Marlene Mowery; numerous nieces and nephews; her husband Arthur’s two sisters and one brother-in-law, Teloiv Wright, Margaret Ann and John Kummerer; and sister-in-law Sandy White.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by one daughter, Wendy Lou White, in 1996; one brother, Herbert Mowery; one sister, Ruby Bower; by her husband Arthur’s brother, Lyle; her brother-in-law, Jay Wright; and sister-in-law, Joan White.
Friends and family will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove, and again from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Covenant Community Church in Middleburg, where the funeral will follow at 11 with Pastor Arden Steiner officiating.
Burial will follow in Orchard Hills Cemetery, Shamokin Dam.
