Junior C. Brininger, 90, Mifflinburg

— MIFFLINBURG — Junior C. Brininger, 90, of Red Ridge Road, passed away at 8:10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at the home of his son and daughter-in-law who were caring for him.

He was born Aug. 3, 1923, in Kantz, Snyder County, a son of the late John P. and Mary E. (Thomas) Brininger. He was married to the former Geraldine M. Snook for 69 years until her passing on April 20, 2012.

Junior attended school in Port Ann.

He farmed most of his life in Beaver Springs, Mifflinburg and New Columbia. After leaving the farm he worked at American Home Foods, Milton and also painted buildings.

Junior attended Millmont God’s Missionary Church and earlier had attended Beavertown God’s Missionary Church.

He was an avid hunter and enjoyed gardening, tinkering with his tractor and mowing his lawn.

He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Kirby A. and Rose Marie Brininger, of Mifflinburg; four grandchildren, Dena Clark, of Tennessee, Jeremy Brininger and fiance, Kelly, of Middleburg, Andrea Brininger, of Selinsgrove, and Megan Rhinehart and Johnny, of Beaver Springs; three stepgrandchildren and their spouses, Scott and LeAnn Wagner, of Millmont, Bradley and Melissa Wagner, of Laurelton, and Kristy Aurand, of Mifflinburg; seven great-grandchildren, Abby Oyster, Tristian Leito, Aiden and Olivia Brininger, Vance and Keaten Howard, and Daisy Mae Rhinehart; 11 stepgreat-grandchildren, Hannah Zechman, Kiley, Kurtis, Kaelynn, Kinnley, Bradley Jr. and Zachariah Wagner, Emily and Katie Aurand, Kiresten Stahl, and Brant Brininger; two sisters, Thelma Rine and Royetta Swingle, both of Middleburg; and one brother, Randall Brininger, of Mifflinburg.

He was preceded in death by one son, Leon L. Brininger in 1968; one sister, Esther Young; and three brothers, Edgar, John and infant Paul Brininger.

Friends and family will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St., Middleburg. Funeral service at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Wayside Bible Church, Middleburg with Pastor Timothy Reich officiating.

Burial will be in Hartleton Cemetery.
