SHAMOKIN DAM — Robert V. “Bob” Kuhn, 77, of Shamokin Dam, passed away at 12:57 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born Oct. 10, 1936, in McClure, a son of the late Perry and Leona (Goss) Kuhn. On July 5, 1958, he married Nellie G. (Richard) Kuhn who survives.
Robert attended school in McClure and graduated from Middleburg Highschool in 1954. After high school he joined the Air Force where he served during the Korean War from 1954-1958, spending most of his active duty stationed in Germany. After the Air Force, he attended Williamsport Area Community College for two years where he studied to be an electrician.
Robert retired after 30 years from Owens Corning Fiberglass in New Jersey. He later worked driving school bus for Sharitz Bus Service for nine years.
Bob was a member of the American Legion Post 25, Selinsgrove.
He enjoyed hunting, bowling, going camping at “the strip” along Penns Creek, square dancing with his wife Nellie, taking trips to Florida, but the love of his life was his children and grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife are one son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Shevaun Kuhn, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; one daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Walter Bingaman, of Shamokin Dam; two grandchildren, Rachel Bingaman, of Alexandra, Va., and Robert Bingaman, of Pittsburgh; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Virginia Kuhn, of Northumberland and Joy and Charles Ackley, of Hopeland; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received from 9:30 to 11a.m. Wednesday at the Pheasant Funeral Home, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown where the funeral will follow at 11.
Burial will follow in Samuel’s Church Cemetery.
