MIFFLINBURG — Doris J. Snyder, 82, formerly of Mifflinburg, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, at RiverWoods, Lewisburg, where she had lived for six months.
She was born March 16, 1931, in Danville, a daughter of the late William and Anna (Lohr) Deitz. On June 12, 1949, she married Donald L. Snyder Sr., who preceded her in death on Oct. 30, 2003, after 53 years of marriage.
Earlier in life, Doris had worked at the JPM Co. and area sewing mills. She retired from the Laurelton Center, where she had worked as a custodian.
Doris was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Milton.
She was an avid sewer and enjoyed cooking and baking. Her greatest love was spending time with her family.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Donald L. Jr. and Evelyn C. Snyder, of Mifflinburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Donna and James Belleson, of Lewisburg; one daughter-in-law, Tracey Snyder, of Arizona; one brother-in-law, Victor E. Snyder, of Lewisburg; one sister, Beatrice Bryla, of Destin, Fla.; five grandchildren, Tana Kelly, Casandra Peper, Morgan Curtis, Molly Snyder and Benjamin Snyder; and one great-grandson, Ray Kelly.
She was predeceased by one son, David E. Snyder, and two sisters, Betty and Bonnie.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis streets, Lewisburg, where a memorial service will be held at 11 with the Rev. Anthony Crawford, pastor of Seventh-day Adventist Church, Williamsport, officiating.
