Robert F. Liddington, 69, Somerset, Calif.

— SOMERSET, Calif. —  Robert Franklin Liddington, 69, of Somerset, died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, in a tragic tractor accident at his home. He was born Jan. 25, 1944, in Northumberland, Pa., a son of the late William and Catharine (Lenker) Liddington.

He married Judy Vanderhoof in 1963, and they had three children together. In 1976 he married Katherine Stressenger and adopted her two children. They also had 18 foster children. He was a devoted father and husband who taught his children the value of hard work.

Bob was an Airman 2nd Class radar operator in the Air Force in Okinawa, Japan in the 1960s. He earned a master of business administration from the University of Phoenix. He was a supervisor in power control at PG&E for 27 years, and was a supervisor in water resources for the State of California for 10 years. In retirement he enjoyed traveling with his wife and pups.

He was a member of the El Dorado RV Club.

Surviving in addition to his wife Katherine, of 38 years, is one sister, Phyllis (Fred) Smith, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sons, Robert W. Liddington of Fairplay, Calif., and Mark (Alberta) Liddington, of Knightsen, Calif.; four daughters, Cindy (Dave) Liddington, of Somerset, Galiena (Jayson) Hasbrouck, of Antioch, Calif., Deborah (Randal) VanderGaast, of Tipton, Iowa, and Liane (Nannette) Stressenger, of Manchester, N.H.; 17 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and his beloved Doxies, Brandy and Lucy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William Jr. and Ronald; three sisters, Barbara, Deanne and Judith; and one son, Timothy.

A celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bob’s home at 7551 Van Pooka Court, Somerset, Calif.

Interment will be held at a later date in Union Cemetery, Brentwood, Calif.
