FREEBURG — Samuel Earl “Sam” Boyer, 86, of Freeburg, entered into rest on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
Samuel was born on the family farm in Freeburg on Oct. 4, 1927, a son of the late Daniel O. and Katie A. (Herrold) Boyer.
He was a graduate of Freeburg High School.
Sam was engaged in farming all of his life and was known for raising goats and enjoying tractors.
He is survived by a sister-in-law, Alverna Boyer, of Freeburg; five nieces and nephews; and six great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by three brothers and a sister-in-law, John H. Boyer, Paul H. and Virginia M. Boyer and Ray F. Boyer.
Friends and family are invited to the viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the George P. Garman Funeral Homes Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mount Pleasant Mills, followed by the funeral at 11 with the Rev. Ronald Landis officiating.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Freeburg.
