NORTHUMBERLAND — Jason W. Doersam, 37, of Nottingham Drive, passed away at 6:03 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, after a short battle with cancer.
He was born Dec. 21, 1975, in Lewisburg, a son of Leta J. (Kline) Doersam, of Middleburg, and the late John W. Doersam. On June 21, 2008, he married the former Susan T. Janas who survives.
Jason was a 1993 graduate of Middleburg High School and received his bachelor’s degree in 1997 from Bloomsburg University.
He had been employed by Wilson’s and Nick’s Room at the Susquehanna Valley Mall, Wood Mode, Kreamer, Excel Homes, Liverpool, and was currently working at Mohawk Flush Doors, Northumberland.
He was a member of the Paxtonville United Methodist Church, where he assisted in vacation Bible school, Sunday school and other children’s activities, and participated in Faith Walkers Relay for Life. He was active in Boy Scouting, enjoyed golfing, and doing crafts to give to others, and was an avid New York Giants fan.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by one son, Jesse David; one brother, Jeremy Doersam, of Middleburg; maternal grandparents, June and Cletus “Bo” Clotfelter, of Middleburg; paternal grandmother, Erma Doersam, of Selinsgrove; and his father and mother-in-law, Richard and Agnes Janas, of Northumberland.
Visitors will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St., Middleburg. A funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Paxtonville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brian L. Lucas officiating.
Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery, Middleburg.
