NEW COLUMBIA — Ronald T. Cresswell, 75, of New Columbia, became a guardian angel on Sunday, April 21, 2013, in Florida where he resided for the last three years.
He was born Nov. 6, 1937, in Pine Grove, a son of the late Albert and Margaret Cresswell.
He was married for 43 years to the former Bernice Potts, who survives.
Ronald retired from Glen-Gery Brick.
Surviving in addition to his wife are seven children, Deborah Fogarty, of Sunbury, Ronald Cresswell, of Shamokin, Albert Cresswell, of Sunbury, Faith Ann Cresswell, of Wisconsin, Margaret Cresswell, of Minersville, Dean Cresswell, of Florida and Tammy Gifford, of Florida; eight grandchildren, Renee Pehowic, of Sunbury, Jonathan Fogarty, of Sunbury, Jace Cresswell, of Carlisle, Marissa Cresswell, of Harrisburg, Laurie, Gina and Nicole Cresswell, of Florida, and Cody Gifford, of Florida; seven great-grandchildren, Dylan and Cameron Fogarty, of Selinsgrove, Evelyn and Sierra Pehowic, of Sunbury, Degan Fogarty, of Sunbury, Becca Cresswell, of Carlisle and Quinn Cresswell, of Harrisburg.; and two brothers, Jack Cresswell, of Schulkyll Haven, and Gerald Cresswell, of Milton.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Shawn Fogarty; three brothers, Albert, Walter and Wilbur Cresswell, and one sister, Elizabeth Jones.
Ronald was a true family man and loved his family with a passion. He was a race car driver for many years and a true Dallas Cowboy fan as well as a true NASCAR fan. He was a great man and will be truly missed by many.
A time of visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, followed by the funeral service at 11, at Faith Church, 1168 Center Turnpike, Orwigsburg with Pastor Douglas Cresswell officiating.
