SUNBURY — John T. Marques, Sunbury, passed away in his home March 21, 2013, after a long illness.
He was born in Tamaqua, Aug. 21, 1929, a son of the late Antonio J. and Carmela G. (Gigli) Marques.
He graduated from Sunbury High School in 1951, served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War in Japan, and worked for US Federal Government as a safety program manager for 25 years.
He was a member of Saint Monica Church, Sunbury, and the American Legion Post # 25 Selinsgrove,.
Only surviving relatives are his cousins in Pa., N.J., and N.Y.
Friends may call from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at David T. Zweier Funeral Home Inc., 157 Chestnut St., Sunbury, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. with Fr. Joseph Fennessy, as Celebrant, at St. Monica Church, Sunbury.
Burial will follow in Pomfret Manor Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to St. Monica Church, Sunbury or D.N.A. Hospice in Shamokin, Pa.
