BEAVERTOWN — Helen F. Howell, 80, formerly of Hetrick Road, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, March 24, 2013, at Sycamore Manor Health Center, Montoursville.
She was born April 2, 1932, in Beaver Springs, a daughter of the late Ralph and Alice (Dreese) Felker. On March 31, 1950, she married Gene S. Howell who preceded her in death on Feb. 19, 2008.
Helen attended Beaver Vocational School and was a member of the class of 1952.
She had previously been employed at Eureka Paper Box in Williamsport, Carey McFalls in Montoursville, and also worked as a cook for Tag’s Bar and Grill and the Weldon’s Cafeteria.
She attended the Faith Baptist Church, Beaver Springs.
Helen was active at area flea markets, collected antique’s, and enjoyed gardening, bird watching and was well known for her cooking.
She is survived by two daughters and two sons-in-law, Diana K. Griffin, of Williamsport, Louise M. and Steve Zondory, of Jersey Shore, and Craig Levan, of Muncy; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Ned Felker, of Halifax; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Kathryn Narehood of Beavertown and Betsy Ann and Dallas Klinger, of Beaver Springs.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Debra L. LeVan; one brother, Joe Felker; and one great-granddaughter, Brittany Helton.
Friends and family will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Pheasant Funeral Home, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown, followed by the funeral at 11 with Pastor Donald Dennis officiating.
Burial will follow in the Paxtonville Cemetery.
