Derl Kieffer, 83, Dornsife

DORNSIFE — Derl Kieffer, 83, of Dornsife, entered into eternal life on Saturday, March 23, 2013, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Derl was a faithful member of Himmel’s Church, Rebuck and its adult Sunday school class. He served for many years on the church council and as an officer and Sunday school superintendent.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, constructing miniature replicas of buildings, and spending time with his family. Derl spent a lot of time researching family history and was a source of knowledge for his family members.

Derl was a loving husband, father and brother and is survived by his son, Dennis, of Mechanicsburg; one sister, Mae Zerby and husband, Claude, of Dornsife; two sisters-in-law, Lila Rebuck, of Leck Kill, and Leah Knerr and husband, Ronald, of Frederick, Md.; two brothers-in-law, John Reitz and wife, MaryAnne, of Hanover, and Frank Brosious, of Chambersburg; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister-in-law, June Brosious; and one brother-in-law, Paul Rebuck.

Derl will be greatly missed by his family, friends and neighbors for his caring nature and quick wit which entertained all who knew him.

Friends and family will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at Himmel’s Church, 1941 Schwaben Creek Road, Rebuck, followed by the funeral at 11, with Pastor Jane Compton officiating.

Flowers will be provided by the family. Memorial gifts in Derl’s memory may be made to Himmel’s Church, 1941 Schwaben Creek Road, Rebuck, PA 17867.
