Miss Boop was a very active member of the St. John’s United Church of Christ, Mifflinburg. Her many activities and contributions to the church included being a deacon and elder for the church council, chairperson for the Parish Life committee, Sunday school teacher, member of the Capital Campaign committee, hostess for the Well Baby Clinic, and she was instrumental in planning many of the social events in the church. Miss Boop was employed as a 5th grade teacher at Avenel Street School, Avenel, New Jersey, for 36 years, until she retired in 1993. She was twice elected as best teacher in the district by her peers.
