WATSONTOWN — Roger L. Plotts, 77, of 18 Liberty Terrace, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
He was born Dec. 3, 1935, in Watsontown, a son of the late Austin Larue. Sr. and Ilda (Gray) Plotts.
Roger was a 1952 graduate of Watsontown High School. He served four years in the Navy aboard several aircraft carriers which sailed in the Mediterranean Sea and the North Atlantic and then later provided fleet tactical support at the Naval Air Station along the Patuxent River, Maryland.
Roger later worked for the former American Home Foods, now ConAgra, Milton and retired from the former West Company.
He was a member of the Clyde F. Mowrer American Legion Post 323, Watsontown.
Roger enjoyed hunting earlier in life and was also an avid fan of Penn State football.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Curtis and Debra Plotts, of New Columbia; one daughter, Viki Funk, of West Milton; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Richard and Millie Plotts, of Watsontown, and Frank Plotts, of Mifflinburg; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Aladean Aikey and Carolyn and Don Bowersox, all of Mifflinburg, and Emily Printzenhoff, of Milton; two sisters-in-law, Lucy and Evelyn Plotts, both of Watsontown; three grandchildren, Jennifer Plotts, Kelly Brown and Cassandra Ramsey; three great-grandchildren, Miles and Norah Brown, and Gabriel Moody; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and former wife, Donnis, he was predeceased by three brothers, Austin Larue Jr., Boyd and Earl Plotts; and one sister, Donna Westley.
Friends and family will be received 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5 at Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St., Watsontown, where a memorial service will be held at 11 with Pastor James Fladland of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Watsontown, officiating.
