RICHFIELD — D. Eugene Leyder, 67, of Richfield, died at 5:18 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born Jan. 30, 1946, in Lewistown, Mifflin County, a son of the late Paul and Emma Leyder. On Oct. 19, 1968, he married the former Linda M. Shrawder with whom he shared nearly 45 years of marriage.
Gene was a 1965 graduate of East Juniata High School, Cocolamus.
Earlier in life he was employed for two years at Triangle Pacific Cabinets, Thompsontown, then he was employed for 20 years by Zimmer Homes, Selinsgrove, and later he retired with 22 years of service from Wood Mode, Kramer.
He was a life member of the Middleburg Moose Lodge.
Gene enjoyed riding his motorcycle, attending the Carlisle Car Shows and showing his prize winning Corvette. During his lifetime he held a very special interest in raising his three Huskies.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one daughter, Michelle Leyder, of Richfield.
There will be no viewing, however, family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville, followed by a memorial service at 11 with Pastor J. Arthur Mott officiating.
Interment will be private.
