SUNBURY — Emma H. Williams, 95, of Sunbury, passed away Oct. 31, 2013, at Manor Care Health Services.
She was born in Sunbury on Aug. 26, 1918, the daughter of the late Dennis and Mary (Ressler) Lenker. On May 8, 1937, she married Dewey H. Williams Sr., who preceded her in death Aug. 13, 1977.
Emma was a member of Emmanuel Bible Fellowship Church and formerly worked for Furman’s in Northumberland. She loved her family and babysitting for all the children, grandchildren, and the neighborhood kids. Everyone affectionately new Emma as “Gram”.
Surviving are her children, Jessie Newman, of Sunbury, John C. and Jeanette, of Ocoee, Fla., Dewey H. Williams III and Pat A., of Sunbury, Terry L. and Cindy, of Northumberland, Bonnie Swank, of Sunbury, Debra A. and Forrest Shoop, of Sunbury; 16 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren, one sister, Shirley Byers, of Milton, one niece and five nephews.
Preceding her in death were two sons, Keith R. Williams Sr. and Joseph M. Williams; two grandchildren, Traci Jo Ernest and Jamie Spriggle, and one great-grandson, Charles Newman III.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the David T. Zweier Funeral Home, Inc., 157 Chestnut St., Sunbury.
Emma will be cremated. A graveside memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Northumberland Memorial Park with Pastor Kurt Francis officiating.
Burial will follow.
