MIFFLINBURG — Romaine A. Boop, 77, of Meadow Green Dr., passed away on Friday morning, Nov. 1, 2013, at Riverwoods, Lewisburg, where she had lived since Monday. She was formerly a resident of Glen Iron for 43 years prior to moving to Mifflinburg.
She was born April 20, 1936, in Jackson Township, Snyder County, a daughter of the late Paul S. and Alverna (Krouse) Kline. On March 17, 1956, she married John W. Boop who preceded her on Sept. 11, 1997.
Romaine was a 1955 graduate of Selinsgrove High School. She was a homemaker and had also been employed by the Ben Franklin store in Mifflinburg for 16 years.
She was member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kratzerville and the WELCA of the church. She also helped in meal preparation at the church and served on the council.
Romaine was an avid Penn State and Atlanta Braves fan.
The greatest joy of her life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Donna R. and Mark Detwiler and Jacalyn K. Orndorf, all of Mifflinburg; two grandchildren and their spouses, Christopher A. and Tara Detwiler and Angela L. and Mike Auchey; four great-grandchildren, Tyler, Aiden, and Ella Detwiler, and Isaiah Auchey; two brothers, Kenneth Kline, of Lewisburg, and Delbert Kline, of Mifflinburg; four sisters, Grace Ritter, of Shamokin Dam, Dorothy Sauers, of Dice, and Fae Foster and Marguerite Hummel, both of Mifflinburg.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Arla Kline.
Friends and family will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kratzerville, followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Barbara Jeanne Collins officiating.
Burial will be in the Lincoln Chapel Church Cemetery, Millmont.
