SUNBURY — Nellie A. Dombroski, 94, of 776 Twin Hill Road, passed away on Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, at her home.
She was born May 17, 1919, in Clearfield County, a daughter of the late Dominick J. and Sophie (Zakszewski) Archeskie. On June 20, 1942, in Bridgeport, Conn., she married Frank Dombroski, who preceded her in death on Jan. 16, 1973.
Nellie attended the former St. Stanislaus School, Shamokin.
She was a member of Mother Cabrini Church, Shamokin.
She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Wilfred “Biff” Henderson, of Sunbury, Marcia and Robert Lobel, of Lewisburg, and Cindy Bowers, of Selinsgrove, and her husband Gary who passed away that same day; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Frank and Emily Dombroski, of Dauphin, Dennis and Jean Dombroski, of Shamokin, and Ken Dombroski, of Westminster, Md.; 14 grandchildren, Frank Henderson, Michelle Blackwell, Paula Derian, Eric and Jeff Miller, Brad and Matthew Parks, Denise Hale, Sheila Warriner, Michael Dombroski, Angela Moyer, Jill Bowers, Amanda and Morgan Dombroski; 14 great-grandchildren, Kaileigh and Jordyn Henderson, Madison and Aidan Blackwell, Grace Derian, Christina and Hayden Miller, Wyatt Parks, Gabrielle, Garret and Grant Hale, Hailee Dombroski and Riley and Avery Moyer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary and Helen Bendas, Alice Hlavaty and Elizabeth Morris; and one brother, Raymond Archeskie.
A visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Saturday in the Leonard J. Lucas Funeral Home, 120 S. Market St., Shamokin. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in Mother Cabrini Church, Shamokin.
Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Bear Gap.
